Writing, whether it be for your job or a hobby, can be time-consuming and downright anxiety-inducing. Sometimes you can’t come up with ideas and other times you don’t know if your article sounds good. You proofread, fix, proofread, fix, and then proofread some more, never really knowing if it is a good enough. Sometimes you just have to submit it or press “Publish” and hope for the best.
It doesn’t have to be like that, though. Thanks to the internet we have some amazing tools that will help make you a better writer in no time at all. Below I have list 5 of the best and if you use these your writing will improve in no time!
5 Tools That Will Make You a Better Writer
This app is available for both Microsoft Word, Outlook, and other programs. It is a great way to proofread your work. Features of Grammarly include: Word choice suggestions, plagiarism proofing, detection of more than 250 grammatical errors, and contextual spell check. It is like having an English professor proofreading and correcting your work. It is a must have for any writer or even just someone that wants their posts on social media to look better. Grammarly has a free version and a premium version, though honestly, the free version is really all anyone needs!
Airstory makes planning your article easy. With this easy-to-use- drag and drop tool you can create searchable, taggable note cards outlining your article. Then drag and drop them into the interface and create your article complete with headings, subtitles, and more. You can use Airstory alone or with a team. It is perfect for content marketing and big projects. I love the fact that you don’t have to take a million notes in another app and then transfer it into yet another app. Airstory makes it easy to keep everything in one place and helps you write your content faster and better.
Ommwriter is perfect for when you want to do nothing but write. How many times have you sat down to write a blog post, article, or a paper only to be distracted by Facebook, instant messaging, or the latest cat video? With the internet at your fingertips, it is hard to stay focused on just writing. That is where Ommwriter comes in handy. It goes into full-screen mode, allowing you to concentrate fully on writing. It also has soothing backgrounds and zen-like music to put you in the mood to write. Ommwriter is a “pay as you wish” app but they do ask you pay at least $5.00 for the app.
DailyPage is my most favorite writing tool ever. It helps you unleash your creativity by sending you a prompt every day. You don’t have to write out a huge 500-word masterpiece to answer it, just a few short paragraphs. It is a great way to get your creative juices flowing and in a few months it is fun to look back and see how your writing improved. You can keep your responses private or share them with other users for feedback. DailyPage is $4.99 a month or if you choose the annual option it is $3.99 a month.
Let’s face it, you can write the most amazing, beautiful article in the world but if your headline is awful no one is going to read it! You need an attention grabbing headline and the Headline Analyzer will help you make one! Paste your headline in the analyzer and it will give you a score on how successful it will be. You can use that information to tweak it and then analyze it again. Before long you will an AWESOME attention grabbing headline that will make readers flock to your article!
Headline Analyzer is a free service offered by Coschedule, which I just so happen to think is the best editorial calendar for bloggers.
