When it comes to podcasts, there are soooo many to choose from that it can be hard to tell where to start. Even when you narrow your choices down by niches, you still have a lot to sift through. Below, you will find my personal recommendations for podcasts for bloggers that I think are particularly awesome – especially if you are a blogger who wants to blog for income rather than simply as a hobby. (Note: These are not in any particular order).
Podcasts for Bloggers
Copyblogger is one of the leading authorities when it comes to teaching bloggers, entrepreneurs, and internet marketers about how to leverage content marketing for their brand. The weekly podcast, hosted by Rainmaker cofounder and Chief Content Officer Sonia Simone, features top experts in content marketing, email marketing, copywriting, conversion optimization, and more. If you are looking for a podcast that presents these topics in a way that laymen can understand, I’d definitely recommend checking this one out.
This is honestly one of my favorite blogs and podcasts. I can’t describe how informative, entertaining, and inspiring Pat Flynn is. If you are interested in generating a real income online without having to make all of the mistakes that other people make, I would highly recommend subscribing to anything that Pat has to offer – including this podcast. You will learn so much about things like blogging, starting a blog, monetizing your blog, email marketing, productivity, networking, and so much more. Pat has a great lineup of top-of-the-line experts and successes. He is super transparent, very genuine and down-to-Earth, and really over delivers on content. If your primary goal is to generate passive income online, I can give no better recommendation than this.
Hosted by Michael Stelzner, the CEO and founder of Social Media Examiner, this weekly podcast is designed to help entrepreneurs, bloggers, and internet marketers to stay up-to-date on social media news, trends, and best practices. Through the use of success stories, case studies, and interviews with industry experts, this is definitely the place to go if you want to learn practical tips and strategies to put social media marketing to work for you.
I actually learned about this podcast after the host, Steve Chou, and his wife were guests on Smart Passive Income with Pat Flynn. I was so intrigued by their story of how they bootstrapped their way to success that I decided to visit their blog. In this podcast, Steve really tries to teach entrepreneurs how to build a successful business without sacrificing all of your time, energy, and money in the process. I really love the fact that they don’t promote the idea that you need to give up all of the things you enjoy just to get to where you want to be. He is proof that you can make your dreams happen without feeling miserable in the process.
Blogger, Jess Lively, uses this platform as a way to inspire people to live their lives with intention. The topics include, but are not limited to, personal development, careers, relationships, and possessions. Many of the episodes feature big names in the blogging industry as they share genuine conversations about what it took to get where they are. If you love listening to inspiring interviews that have hidden nuggets of advice, I’d suggest checking this out.
This blog-centric podcast is all about helping bloggers to succeed. With topics including, but not limited to SEO, gaining traffic, content creation, monetizing your blog, marketing, social media, and more, this is a great podcast for people who are determined to make money blogging about their passions.
Though this is not a podcast that is geared towards bloggers, I still think it is a worth a listen if you are in need of something that is inspiring. Michael is a great person to listen to when you need to refocus on your passion, leadership, time management, mindset, etc. He also has some podcast episodes that are geared towards bloggers, like this one on boosting your blog traffic.
If you like podcasts that are honest, informative, actionable, inspiring and entertaining then The Fizzle Show is likely to find its way into your weekly routine. Their whole thing is getting paid to do something you love that makes a difference in this world. They discuss a wide variety of topics to help you grow both professionally and personally. One week they might talk about striking a work-life balance, increasing productivity, or effective marketing strategies. The next week they might discuss pricing strategies, motivation, or building your audience. And they do it all with a dash of humor.
Amy Porterfield’s blog is another one that I have been a long-time fan of. In short, she helps people to get results when using social media for their blog or business. If your goal is to get more traffic, more leads, and more sales, this is definitely a great place to learn what to do. Amy is one of my go-to people when it comes to using social media monetizing your blog, launching products, conducting effective webinar, building your list, email marketing, establishing yourself as an expert, and getting quality clients. The best part is that she breaks things down so that you know exactly what you need to do so that you can actual implement what you are learning.
